breathwork for ADHD

The Loud Quiet breathwork classes

Hello, my name’s Rebecca Ryder - you can call me Becky.

I love creating safe spaces for healing, personal growth and creative inspiration. My passion is helping you get to know yourself better and overcome what holds you back, empowering you to express yourself and live the life you deserve.

I’m a fully qualified facilitator of conscious connected breathwork and integrative somatic release. This practice has a range of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits. It's a beautiful tool for building a better relationship with our own bodies, regulating our nervous systems and releasing suppressed emotions by feeling them deeply. Many of us are disconnected from ourselves and the world around us; believe me, I’ve been there and I know how it feels.

I’ve carried out training in Mexico, Spain and Canada, supporting people from around the world. (I trained with The Other Side of Average). I now run regular classes and workshops around my home city of Manchester. I also support on events and retreats further afield. I'm studying training for both a person-centred counselling diploma (with The Manchester College), and a certification in somatic therapy, bringing together eastern and western approaches to healing.

I first discovered breathwork a few years ago, when I started paying more attention to my mental and spiritual health. I wanted to get to know myself better and love myself more. Being diagnosed with ADHD in 2022 was a big part of why I then started The Loud Quiet the year after. The areas of focus for me were clear: ‘Permission to pause, nurturing your inner world and coming back to yourself.’

Anyone with ADHD will know we never let ourselves 'pause', so learning more about slowing down was important to me. It's the only way we can hear ourselves and trust our own wisdom. We disconnect from our inner worlds and don't validate ourselves enough. I'm also really passionate about coming back to the truest versions of ourselves too; rather than masking, shaming parts of ourselves and presenting how we think others want us to be.

By teaching me how to be more physically present in each moment, breathwork has allowed me to be more attuned to my emotions. I can feel more unapologetically human, rather than shaming myself over certain emotions. I would over-analyse what I felt, rather than just feeling it, or feel completely numb and wonder what was wrong with me.

I can experience life more fully and find more joy in noticing the little things around me, rather than always chasing the next ‘high’ or exciting event, wishing my life away, numbing and distracting. By helping me navigate my emotions, rather than feeling overwhelmed by or questioning them, breathwork empowered me to be myself, hear my inner voice and live life more confidently.
